One of the greatest joys of being a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for me is my relationships with other stampers, including other demonstrators. It has been a joy to know many of my downline
and sidelines (those who are not directly in my downline) for 20+ years. One of my downline I actually have known my whole life! My mom. This week I was able to fly with my husband on his business trip using a companion pass as he traveled to Connecticut, my home state, and visit my mom.
So of course, when mom and I get together, we talk shop. Stampin’ Up is just part of our everyday communication whether we are talking on the phone, texting, Facebooking or having some real
face to face time. We share ideas with each other, and when possible, we create together.
The way we do business is similar but different. My mom has a bit more time on her hands, so when she offers a stamp class, she offers a buffet of cards to choose from for her guests to make. Typically in my card classes, we stamp 6 make and takes. I also offer a scrapbooking class one a month.
I have always known my mom to be creative, a party giver, an excellent cook, an entrepreneur, an organizer, inspirational and an encouraging friend. All of these aspects are what she brings to her everyday life and her Stampin’ Up! business. I am so grateful to have had her as a mentor in life teaching me early on the aspects that I mentioned above. I have found them so helpful as I choose to serve others in my everyday life and in my Stampin’ Up! business.
It’s been a sweet getaway – one that is certainly worth documenting and sharing with all of you. Whether you are a demonstrator or a hobbyist, if you enjoy stamping like we do, find someone to share that creative passion with. You will be an encouragement as well as be encouraged.
Honor her for all that her hands have done, and let her works bring her praise at the city gate. Proverbs 31:31

Hi Sue – nice post. I agree – the friendships with other demonstrators (like you!) and other stampers are very special. Nice to read about your family. I remember meeting your mom.
Thank you, Cindy!
