Buongiorno!
It has been a delightful time getting acquainted with the homeland of my grandparents whom I call Nonni and Nonno.
My husband Jim and I are celebrating our 30th year of marriage here in this very romantic country of Italy. So far we have visited Venice and Verona, and now we are in Lenno, on Lake Como. I have posted many photos on Facebook for family and friends to follow our European adventure, but my dear son-in-law, Joseph, reminded me, while Jim and I were visiting him and my lovely daughter, Bethany, in Slovakia, that Facebook could be here today and gone tomorrow – I should be blogging my trip. So, here I am. 😊 However, I am not going to post all of the photos I have already posted on FB, so if you are interested in seeing them all, you will need to check out my Facebook page, too.
Bellagio, Lake Como
Today, Jim and I took a relaxing ferry ride over to Lake Como’s Pearl: Bellagio. We had been told that simply walking through the vibrant village with its cobblestone walkways alone would make the visit worthwhile, and they were right!
We also enjoyed a delizioso lunch by the lake at Florence Restaurant. It was the first time I had Tagliatelle alla Bolognese, and I was not disappointed! My husband enjoyed chicken and vegetables, and we shared a fresh salad with olive oil. The gorgeous view only added to the perfect choice for lunch.
After a lovely day of strolling the cobblestone streets in bellisimo Bellagio, we ferried back to our home away from home and relaxed on the balcony.
Lenno, Lake Como
Well, what would you do while sitting on a balcony overlooking a beautiful lake? I enjoyed some creative time by coloring these adorable snowmen from the Spirited Snowmen Stamp Set found in the Stampin’ Up! 2018 Holiday Catalog. I used Real Red, Granny Smith Apple Green, Bronze, Pool Party Light, and Shaded Spruce Blends markers to bring to life these spunky fellows.
You may be wondering, “why all the snowmen?” During November and December I am going to be ultra busy with the OnStage Stampin’ Up event In Florida , a Stampin’ Up! Retreat at the Land of Refuge in Caldwell, Texas, and several craft boutiques. I am using these friendly little guys on stocking stuffers, cards, and ornaments. In the future I will post photos of finished creations.
Until then, check out the beautiful Holiday Catalog and place your order. All orders of $40 or more using this month’s hostess code will recieve from me (in honor of today’s trip to Bellagio) SU Pearl Basic Jewels!
