Retiring!

Retiring!

This was a BIG week for our family.  My husband, Jim, announced that he will be retiring from his job this month after working with The Boeing Company for 36 years!  I see more time with him in my stamp room in the very near future!  Woohoo!  We are both excited for this next chapter in our lives!  We are not positive as to all that is going to take place yet, but we trust the Master Planner and believe we will not be disappointed as we prayerfully go forward.

My husband has an amazing reputation of being the calm in the storm.  He has worked with lots of different groups over the last three decades, and I have heard multiple times from coworkers in California, where he began his career, and in Texas for the last 17 plus years, that he is always ~ calm.  As I was stamping these cards tonight, I was reminded of where he gets that ability to stay so calm in the midst of uncertainty, chaos, and corporate drama.  God.  Jim’s faith is in the One who orchestrates our days, lights our path in life, and is very trustworthy.

After celebrating 30 years of marriage earlier this year, we finally get to realize part of our dream of being with each other more every day.  The song, The Great Adventure by Steven Curtis Chapman, has been one of our life themes for over 25 years.  It was originally recorded near the Tetons outside of Jackson Hole, Wyoming where we spent part of our “2nd Honeymoon” 30 years ago this month.  Even though we are not totally sure about what is next, we can remain calm and trust the One who directs our steps, who charts our course and who puts the wind in our sail as we progress forward to the next adventure with confidence and great expectations.
